Massive Business networking opportunity

The Upper Goulburn Food Wine and Cultural Group are holding one of its hugely popular networking nights on June 1 2010.

The group was successful in applying for business recovery funding to enable the group to encourage food, wine and cultural businesses to come together to re establish networks and reinvigorate local business economy.

The group identified that business stakeholders such as restaurants, cafes, caterers, hotels, Inns and small producers themselves are not currently aware of just what product survived the 2009 bushfires.

Well over 150 businesses have been invited from Murrindindi, Mitchell, Strathbogie and Mansfield shires and the response has been extremely strong with bookings close to capacity.

The group will showcase the development of a printed supplier’s guide that will inform, educate and assist market growth of local business operating in the fire affected regions. The suppliers guide will be widely distributed to stakeholders throughout the affected areas. Currently the group has an online supplier’s guide but this funding will allow for more operators to come on at the reduce rate and the group will be able to print hardcopies over the next 12 - 24 months.

Mitch MacRae, President of the UGFWCG group is very happy with the response so far and the opportunity to get businesses networking on 1 June at Rennie’s in Acheron from 7 – 9pm.

“Businesses need the opportunity to have a night out and mix with like minded businesses and talk up their business offerings.” He went on to say “our region has so much to offer as far as local food, produce, wine and culture and this night will bring in businesses from far and wide”

We are expecting that attendees will have a heightened awareness of available local product and the outcome will be measured by an increase in sales of the local product across the region with both the networking night and the improved suppliers guide.

Mitch reminds businesses to resister now urgently to Sam on 0427 723 227 or by the groups email on info@uge.asn.au
