Hume and Hovell Cricket Ground, more than just good cricket!

The Tf’s love this hidden treasure nestled amongst the Valley of the Thousand Hills and encourage all to visit!
Not sure?
Just ask yourself this - "need to find a quiet place to hideaway on a winter's Sunday afternoon? "

If you answered YES?

Then look no further than the cricket pavilion at Hume and Hovell Cricket Ground, simply book in for lunch, drive up to Strath Creek, kick back and enjoy the regionality of our local food and wines.

Your Sunday will greatly support our regions business and tourism industry post fires.

Since 30 May until end of August 2010 Hume and Hovell Cricket Ground (HHCG) are having some wonderful afternoons with locals and visitors.

The HHCG is only 85 Kilometres from Melbourne, a lovely one hour drive and once you see the hills your city stresses will fall away.

Your hosts Don and Anne McQueen are avid supporters of all things cricket and passionate about the Upper Goulburns regional food and wine.

On these lovely winters Sundays from 12 noon until 5pm they are offering wine tastings in the long room gallery and homemade pizzas which you can order and take away!
There are other simple pleasures such as the picking platter, soup of the day with fresh baked bread, cake and who can resist real scones with jam and cream!

Whilst there pick Anne's and Don's local knowledge about exploring local walks and scenic outlooks, and before you head out to walk off the yummy lunch and wine tasting you can take home some local produce!

The local produce on offer comprises of 8 regional cool climate wines, local made honey, preserves, jam, olives, coffee, cherries and speciality cakes.

More about Hume and Hovell Cricket ground, did you know they have 6 pristine turf wickets, 4 synthetic practice nets, a very well stocked Cricket Shop, Bunkhouse accommodation in the “Not Out Inn” a wonderful bed and breakfast in the Lindsay Hassett Room, extensive memorabilia collection in the Pavilion or if cricket is not so much your game walk amongst the rose gardens and enjoy the views……

did we mention the spectacular views ?
Dont forget to take the camera!!

Also when there ask Don for a recital, tell him the Tf’s love his Aussie bush ballads and that we dobbed him in!!!
