Spring Degustation Dinner on 17 September 2010 at Rennies @ Acheron

The Tfs love Degustation dinners!!

For those who don't know.. it’s a culinary term an expression meaning "a careful, appreciative tasting of various foods" and focusing on the gustatory system, the senses, high culinary art and good company.

It’s a great way for chefs to show off their many talents and can be as simple as taste of each of a restaurants menu items and or all of a chef's signature dishes in one sitting.
Usally seven or more courses is presented and accompanied by a matching wine degustation which complements each dish.
Simply to die for...

In most cases clients will return to the restaurant to enjoy those dishes they enjoy most during the dining experience.

Now if the chef is clever each dish shall not overpower the dish presented before hand and there must be a flow through from one course to another.

Fresh produce is a must with matching local wines….

A lot of work goes in to these dinners and the staff, venue and chef must be up to the challenge. For us the attendees it’s a wonderful experience, a culinary adventure to stimulate the senses and delight the palette and with great company - a night to remember!

Now that your up with it, sorry for those who have already known about this form of sampling that was made famous by the French and their sampling of wine and cheese, we are lucky to have one such dinner happening in our region.

Cant wait!!
When and where you cry??
